Family history research
The Bornholmers have always had a desire to travel. They have a proud sailing tradition, but have also been known to be a bit stubborn! One anecdote is never to have more Bornholmers on board a ship than there are masts – so that each Bornholmer can be bound to a mast!
In the last century many Bornholmers emigrated to the USA.
Therefore, many tourists come each year to Bornholm to research their ancestors.
We are connected to family history researchers who can assist you in tracing your relatives on Bornholm. Our tours around the island start where your family originated, and at the same time you will hear exciting stories about life on Bornholm. We might be able to trace your relatives to one of the cemeteries on the island.
