Cancellation insurance

Cancellation insurance

When you book your holiday with us, a free cancellation insurance is included in the price. Hopefully, you will not need it, but it is better to be safe than sorry – especially when it is free.

The cancellation insurance is drawn up in collaboration with ETI Travel Protection. Should you be prevented to go on your holiday, you will need to contact us, and send us the required documentation, and we will take care of the rest of the paperwork. Holidays are supposed to be easy.

Below, you will be able to see the conditions of the cancellation insurance:

1.1  What is covered by the insurance?
The insurance covers the cost of the holiday, exclusive of insurance premiums, we, as a travel agency, do not credit, in case of a cancellation, in cases where the participation of the insured is impossible, or considerably difficult;
1.1.1 in case the insured, the insured’s spouse, children, parents, parents-in-law, children-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, grandparents, sister- or brother-in-law, or members of the travel party, passes away, or is struck by acute illness or serious injury, which requires hospitalisation, prescribed bedrest, or anything else equating to this.
1.1.2 if an event takes place immediately prior to departure, such as a fire or burglary in the insured’s private residence, or a fire or a burglary.

1.2  Special conditions
It is a condition for the coverage of the insurance that
* we, as a travel agency, receive proof of the insurance event, i.e. doctor’s note, death certificate, or police report.

1.3  Coverage time
The insurance covers from the day of booking, until the latest arrival time for the planned departure for Bornholm (such as a ferry departure), listed, for example, on the invoice or ticket. Following this time, the insurance is void.

Definition of "Acute Illness”
Acute, insurance covered, illness is defined as newly occurred illness, a valid suspicion of newly occurred serious illness, or an unexpected sudden aggravation of an existing or chronic illness.

Definition of "Travel party"
Travel party is defined as the people meant to participate in the holiday.

How do you cancel?
If you wish to cancel your holiday, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible, preferably by phone +45 56 95 85 66. Cancellation must take place no later than the time of planned departure to Bornholm (such as a ferry departure). Remember to inform us of your invoice number.

We then ask you to send us the following documentation:
* In case of illness: Doctor’s note
* In case of death: Copy of death certificate
* In case of burglary: Copy of police report

Should you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact us by phone +45 56 95 85 66, or by email info@teambornholm.dk

As of yet, we have not experienced that we have had to deny compensation in accordance with a guest’s wishes. Should a problem arise, you have the option to contact the Insurance Complaint Board, Anker Heegaards Gade 2, 1572 København V, telephone: +45 33 15 89 00 (between 10.00 og 13.00).
