Don't forget to visit the Hammershus Visitor Centre, which is built into the historic landscape and offers exciting stories about the medieval castle Hammershus. You can visit Hammershus all year round, and it's completely free. Another beautiful attraction you should experience on Nordbornholm is Lake Opal. Opal Lake is a remnant of an old granite quarry. In the summer, Lake Opal is the hub for all kinds of outdoor experiences. You can try abseiling, climbing, horse riding or try Denmark's longest cable car. The Opal Lake is also a fantastically beautiful place for hiking or mountain biking. Follow the recorded routes and enjoy the view from the many beautiful lookouts you pass. Often you will also be lucky enough to meet free-ranging sheep, goats or cows.

At the Art Museum in Rø you can experience Bornholm's beautiful Heligdomsklipper. If you're up for it, you should also explore "Den Sorte Gryde", a 60 meter deep cave in the Bornholm cliffs. The rare cave spiders live here. They are quite harmless and usually hide in the outer part of the cave. If you are in Gudhjem, you can go on a boat trip with M/S Thor and experience the Helligdomsklipperne from the water side.

From Nordbornholm's towering cliffs to Sydbornholm's silky sandy beaches. Bornholm is the island of contrasts, and on the southern tip you will find Dueodde beach. Dueodde beach has sand so fine that it has been used in hourglasses. It attracts many beach-loving guests, but Dueodde is just as popular with nature lovers. If you are looking for some cultural experiences, you must visit the cannon positions from the Second World War at Dueodde. They were never used, and therefore stand as they did when they were built. Remember to bring a flashlight so you can explore the many rooms in the dark bunkers. It is perfectly permissible to explore them. If you are hungry for more wartime experiences, you can visit the nearby Bornholm tower. Here you can learn about Bornholm's history of war, or you can enjoy the view from the 70 meter high tower.

Bornholm's charming towns hide plenty of holiday experiences. In Gudhjem you get southern sensations from the mountain-like landscape, the special atmosphere and the cozy little shops. Svaneke offers unparalleled shopping and restaurant experiences with its many local specialty shops and delicious restaurants. Close to Svaneke is Nexø, Bornholm's second largest town, which offers an old smokehouse and historical museums. In Allinge you will find some of Bornholm's most popular smokehouses. In the holiday town of Sandvig, it always feels like summer with the many small local ice cream parlors and cafés. At Dueodde and Balka, you can go on a beach holiday and enjoy the kilometre-long, chalk-white beaches. In Årsdale you can experience the very special harbor atmosphere and go to a herring smokehouse or beer bar. Sandkås south of Allinge is characterized by rock formations and a holiday atmosphere. In Bornholm's capital Rønne, you can enjoy the good sandy beaches, go shopping or eat at some of the island's best restaurants. North of Rønne you will find Hasle, which offers idyllic woodland and cozy city life. Boderne is located between Rønne and Dueodde and is pure beach paradise.
