Årsdale Søpark is located in the charming fishing village of Årsdale – just 2 minutes’ drive south of Svaneke. In Årsdale, you will be met with the local landmark; the beautiful Dutch mill from the 1800s. While the wings slowly turn in the warm breeze, you can fell the holiday atmosphere spreading. The feeling only intensifies as you reach Årsdale Søpark. Here, you will be welcomed by handsome holiday apartments for 2-4 and 4-6 people, all designed and decorated by Bornholm designer Pernille Bülow.
At a small additional fee, you can choose to stay in a holiday apartment with a view of the Baltic Sea. All holiday apartments are located on the ground floor, and they all have either terrace or balcony. The terrain in front of the apartments is sloping, which is why some of the apartments have a balcony, rather than a terrace. The apartments with sea view face east, while the apartments without sea view face west.
The layout of the holiday apartments
The layout of the holiday apartments has been designed by Bornholm designer Pernille Bülow, and there are many wonderful details in the apartments. For example, all the artwork are photographs of the local everyday life, shot between 1890 and 1910. The photos are more than 100 years old, and they add to the cosy atmosphere of the apartments.

From the living room, you will have access to a terrace. All apartments have TV and a private barbecue. The apartments’ floorplan is 70 m2, and they all have sea view.

The world has become unpredictable. At Årsdale Søpark you can book your stay with a Safety-Guarantee, which ensures that you can cancel your holiday for free if you still do not want to travel. You do not have to state a reason and you can cancel up to 30 days before your arrival. The price is just EUR 41,- per holiday home. Arrival days
As a rule, there are no set days for arrival or departure. As such, you are able to plan your holiday completely according to your own wishes – and you can choose to travel on the days when the ferry is cheapest. Usually, the ferry is cheapest on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
Check-in
You will be able to check in to your holiday home from 4 PM. Please read more under "Keys" if you arrive late at night.
Departure time
On the day of departure, we ask that you leave the holiday apartment no later than 10:00 AM, so that we can prepare the apartment for the next guests.
Book more than one holiday apartment
If you wish to book more than one holiday apartment, all you have to do is book one holiday apartment, and make a note in the comments section, of how many holiday apartments you would like to book. If you wish to take to bus to Årsdale Søpark the bus stop is approximately 150 meters away from Årsdale Søpark. The schedule for all bus routes on Bornholm can be found here: bat.dk.
Cleaning
A holiday is a holiday! We take care of the cleaning prior to your arrival and following your departure, so that you can rest easy knowing that you will arrive at a clean apartment, and you will not have to worry about cleaning before your departure. When you book your holiday with us, cleaning is always included in your fee, and there will be no extra cleaning charges. On your departure, we ask that you have placed all of your rubbish in the bin bag, and that you have washed the dishes.
Disability conditions
The holiday apartments in Årsdale Søpark are not designed for people with physical disabilities, nevertheless, they are quite wheelchair-friendly. The doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs, there are no steps inside the apartments, and the bathrooms are large enough to accommodate wheelchairs. Please inform us of you are travelling with a wheelchair, we will do out utmost to find you the best possible holiday home.
Dishtowel, toilet paper, etc.
Upon your arrival, you will find a dishtowel, dishcloth, and a start-up inventory of toilet paper and kitchen towels, in your holiday apartment. Should you require extra, we ask that you bring, or purchase, this yourself.
Duvets and bed linen
There are duvets and pillows in the apartment. Bed linen and towels are therefore the only thing you must bring yourself. Alternatively, you can rent a linen package, consisting of sheets, pillow and duvet covers as well as a large and a small towel, for DKK 22 EUR per person. Remember to pre-order if you want to rent bed linen / towels.
Electric cars
Unfortunately, it is not legal to charge electric cars by pulling power cables out of the holiday apartment, as the resort's electricity network is not built for the load from electric cars. If you have an electric car, we instead refer you to charging at the public charging stations nearby.
Grocery shopping
There is a small grocery store, called Høkeren, in Årsdale. For more options, we recommend Svaneke Brugs (4 minutes from Årsdale by car), which is open from 08:00 - 18:00 seven days a week (during peak season, opening hours are extended). In Nexø, 8 kilometres from Årsdale, you will find Coop 365, Kvickly, Lidl, and Netto, all open seven days a week.
Hypoallergenic holiday apartments
All holiday apartments are non-smoking. If you have a pet allergy, you can choose to stay in one of the pet-free holiday homes. Please inform us of your allergy when making your reservation, and we will book you into one of the hypoallergenic holiday homes. None of our pillows or duvets are stuffed with down, so an allergy to down will not be a problem.
Internet
All holiday apartments in Årsdale Søpark have wireless internet access. The connection speed may vary depending on the number of simultaneous users. If you need to use the internet for work purposes, we recommend that you bring your own mobile connection. Slow or faulty internet connection will not be grounds for financial compensation.
Iron and ironing board
You can borrow an iron and an ironing board, free of charge, of course.
Kitchenware
The holiday apartments in Årsdale Søpark all have well equipped kitchens – including dinnerware for 6 people. All apartments have a dishwashing machine.

You can collect you key at Årsdale Søpark, regardless of the day of your arrival.
Parking
You can enjoy free parking at Årsdale Søpark. The parking spaces are located 10-100 meters from Årsdale Søpark.
Payment terms
We ask that you make a deposit of 25% of the total fee, no more than 10 days after receiving your order confirmation. We ask that you pay the residual sum no later than 45 days prior to your arrival. If you have made your reservation less than 45 days before your arrival, we ask that you pay the fee in full, the day after receiving your order confirmation.
Pets
Dogs and cats are very welcome in Årsdale Søpark, as some of the holiday apartments are reserved specifically for guests with pets. An extra cleaning fee of EUR 48 will be charged for bringing your four-legged friend. If you bring 3 dogs, or more, the fee is EUR 96. It is quite easy to bring your dog or cat to Bornholm, as long as you live up to the requirements from the Swedish Custom’s Agency. Read more about bringing your pet to Bornholm here.

Årsdale is referred to for the first time in the 1300s. Even though the phrase ”climate change” had probably not been invented back then, it was the reason why Årsdale developed as a town. Back in the 1300s, a climate change resulted in an incredible amount of herring in the Baltic Sea. Fishing for herring became an enormous industry, and buyers from countries all around the Baltic Sea travelled to Bornholm, and Årsdale, to buy herring.
Haunted by Prussian gangs
Unfortunately, the rich commercial life also attracted attention from some unwanted visitors. Towards the end of the 1300s, Årsdale was haunted by Prussian gangs, who threatened arson and war if ransom was not paid. As time went on, the gangs were defeated, and in the following years, it was the local islanders, and their fellow Danes, who paid ”visits” to the Prussian coast of the Baltic Sea.
Visit Årsdale Smokehouse and Høkeren
Today, the fishing from Årsdale is not as heavy, but you are still able to sample some of the best smoked herring on Bornholm, at the local smokehouse ”Årsdale Smokehouse”. You should try the famous fish patties, the best on Bornholm. Following a great lunch, you might fancy a short walk along the charming harbour. Maybe it is time for an ice cream at ”Høkeren”, the local grocery store. Usually, large supermarkets put the smaller shops out of business, but here in Årsdale, the locals have gone about things rather differently, as they have started their own little grocery store. Get comfortable on the terrace in front of Høkeren, and have a chat with the locals – and do not believe everything they tell you.

Beautiful Årsdale Mill
Do pay a visit to Årsdale Mølle, which is one of the most beautiful and well preserved Dutch mills in Denmark. The mill was built in 1877, and today, it is run by the 4th generation of millers. It is a great experience to stand beneath the wings of the mill as they turn.
Go for a swim in the sea
Maybe you have some flour dust that you need to rinse off, following a visit to the mill – go for a swim! In Årsdale, you do not have to worry about getting sandy feet, as the beach is covered by the lovely, red Årsdale ”grit”. Large rocks along the beach provides a wonderful atmosphere. Bring a cup of coffee, sit on a rock. Take in the view. Enjoy the silence.

During the evening, we recommend that you visit Svaneke, where there are many excellent restaurants and great shopping opportunities. The easternmost town on Bornholm
Årsdale Søpark is located very close to Svaneke. When you stay in Årsdale Søpark, you must visit the beautiful neighbouring town. By car, it is only a 2-minute journey to Svaneke – but you can also make the journey by bicycle. Remember, you can borrow a bicycle, free of charge, when you stay at Årsdale Søpark.
Awarded for its excellent preservation work
Besides being named as the most beautiful towns in Denmark, Svaneke is one of the few towns in Europe, which has been awarded the European Council’s gold medal for ”Excellent Preservation Work”. Take a ride on the local horse drawn carriage, where you can lean back and enjoy the beautiful old timber frames houses.
From the harbour, you can walk along the narrow streets to the square, where there is always a great atmosphere – especially on market days, where you might be able to get a good deal from one of the locals. We recommend that you visit ”Svaneke Købmandshandel”, which is a charming traditional grocery store, where time was stopped in the 1950s. Swing by the beach Hullehavn, where you can experience one of the hidden gems of Bornholm, the café "Syd-Øst for Paradis" (South-east of paradise), where they serve excellent cocktails accompanied by live music.

The creative hub of Bornholm
Svaneke is not just charming. Svaneke is the creative hub of Bornholm. Here, you will be able to find anything your eyes, or belly, may desire. Glass art. Paintings. Designer clothes. Handmade liquorish, chocolate, ice cream, and hard candy. Do visit the local smokehouse, with its fish delicacies, or Svaneke Bryghus with its critically acclaimed beer. Of course you need to take part in the local version of the lottery: ”Chicken-bingo”. The game is very simple, 3 chickens are let out onto a large bingo field, and it is your job to guess which of the numbers receive the first ”greeting” from one of the chickens.
