Bringing pets on holiday to Bornholm

Of course, the sweet furry friends do not have to miss out on a wonderful holiday on Bornholm. Team Bornholm has a large selection of resorts where your pet is welcome. If you take your dog or cat on holiday, it only costs a cleaning fee of:

• 400 DKK if you bring 1-2 cats or dogs
• 800 DKK if you bring 3-4 cats or dogs

Most resorts have holiday homes where dogs and cats are allowed, while a few resorts have few or no holiday homes where pets are allowed. Therefore, you may find that holiday homes where pets are allowed are sold out in the place you want to stay at, even though there are generally holiday homes available.  

Pets through Sweden

Travelling to Bornholm with your pet is easy. However, you should be aware that special rules apply when you bring pets through Sweden:

1. Your dog/cat must be ID-marked with a microchip or a clearly legible tattoo.
2. Your dog/cat must have a "pet passport" that you can get from your vet.
3. Your dog/cat must be vaccinated against rabies. The vaccination must be carried out no later than 3 weeks before departure.
4. You must report your import of a dog to Sweden to the Swedish customs authorities. You only report one entry, which is the start date of your holiday.

6. Remember to bring the notification number you receive.
7. In the field of introduction, state "Öresund Bridge/Malmö".
