Unique holiday home on Bornholm
The 14-people holiday home ”Feddet” is located on Balka which is a lovely area for holiday homes, and also Bornholm’s most coveted holiday home area. Feddet is a large and luxurious cottage, decorated as a hunting lodge in farm style with three lengths. Indoors there is plenty of space and a large activity room with, among other things, billiard.
The outdoor areas offer a lovely garden, beautiful, covered terrace with dining area and lounge area, large parking space and a cozy cobbled patio. When you holiday on Feddet, you live 500 meters from Balka Beach, which is a very child-friendly sandy beach with silky soft sand and shallow water depth. Feddet is a unique holiday home in a quality class that is not usually rented out.
Feddet - Summerhouse Balka - layout
Feddet is a unique cottage of 248 m2 with furnishings for 14 people. The cottage is located on a 10,000 m2 plot surrounded by trees and shrubs. The cottage consists of three lengths and an annex:
The farmhouse is furnished with two separate bedrooms, bathroom with shower, toilet with underfloor heating, and large kitchen in open connection with the living room. The kitchen is well equipped and consists of ceramic stove, Swedish wood-burning stove, refrigerator, large freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine and kettle. In the living-room there is a dining area, wood stove, sofa corner with TV and access to a beautiful, covered terrace. On the covered terrace there is terrace furniture, lounge furniture, outdoor utility room and barbecue area. From the covered terrace you have a view of the cozy garden with many trees and shrubs. The room length is furnished with four separate bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, toilet and underfloor heating.
In the third long there is a large banquet hall and activity room. The banquet hall is furnished with a dining area, nice bar and cozy sofa corner. The activity room offers, among other things, billiards, table football and darts.
The annex, which is located 40 meters from the farmhouse, has two beds. The three longer ones surround a beautiful and sunny courtyard with patio furniture. In addition, there is a large parking space on the plot with space for many cars.
Feddet is peacefully located in the beautiful Bornholm nature close to Balka Beach. Balka Beach is very child-friendly due to its shallow water depth, and the sand is one of Bornholm's finest. In the summer, the beach is home to water activities where you can learn to surf, kitesurf or try a paddle board ride. From Balka Beach you can continue to the small cozy fishing village Snogebæk, where you will find restaurants, cafes, small shops with local specialties and shopping opportunities.
Feddet is just 500 meters from a bicycle rental. Rent a bike and experience Bornholm's extensive branch of bicycle tracks, which start almost right at Feddet. Try, for example, the pleasant trip to Nexø, which is Bornholm's second largest city. Here you will find plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops and shopping opportunities. Feddet is a beautiful holiday home in a lovely area, where you are close to all the good Bornholm holiday experiences.

In the room length there are four separate bedrooms: Two rooms with two single beds in each, and two rooms with a double bed in each (sleeps 8 in total). In addition, there is an annex 40 meters from the farmhouse with two single beds (2 beds in total).

- Terrace: Yes, there is a large, covered terrace, and a beautiful patio. Both with garden furniture.
- Barbecue: Barbecue is available by the covered terrace.

- Day of arrival: In the period 3 July - 14 August, Monday is the day of arrival / departure. In other periods, you are generally free to choose the day of arrival of the week. In some periods, however, due to the other bookings at Feddet, there may be restrictions on the choice of arrival day. Outside the period 3 July - 14 August, you do not need to rent for whole weeks, so you can also take short vacations of 3-5 nights. This allows you to put together the holiday exactly according to your choice, just as you can choose to travel on the cheapest ferry days. The cheapest ferry days are usually Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Arrival and departure time: You can enter the cottage from 16:00 on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, we ask you to leave the cottage no later than 10:00, so that we can have the cottage cleaned for the next guests.
- Cleaning and water and electricity consumption: Both cleaning on arrival and departure as well as water and electricity consumption are included in your rental price.

Holiday home on Bornholm with large activity room
Feddet is a uniquely decorated cottage with a hunting-lodge atmosphere. In the living- room, the flames from the hot wood- stove crackle, spreading coziness in the wood-paneled room with exposed beams. On the walls hang the triumphs from the owner's many hunting seasons. The kitchen is large and well appointed. The visible beams and wood paneling are consistent throughout most rooms and create a wonderful atmosphere. In one long of the cottage you will find a combined banquet hall and activity room. Large cable drums have been transformed into tables that are well suited for a gala dinner. A large and nice bar fills the space by the end wall. Preparations have been made here for you to connect a draft beer keg (contact Svaneke Bryghus on phone +45 56 44 56 56 to rent a draft beer system). Connect the draft beer keg, enjoy a beer and a good chat in the bar. The cottage's activity room is an extension of the banquet hall. Have a game of pool or billiards at the large pool table, play table football and darts, or sit in the corner of the sofa with a good book.

Time of Arrival
You will be able to check in to your holiday home from 4:00 PM on the arrival day. Read more under "Keys" if you arrive late at night.
Time of Departure
On the day of departure, we ask that you leave the holiday home no later than 10:00 AM, so that we can prepare the holiday home for the next guests.
Arrival days
In the period 2 July - 13 August, Saturday is the arrival/departure day. In other periods, you can basically freely choose the arrival day of the week. In some periods, due to the other bookings, however, there may be restrictions on the choice of arrival day. As a rule, you don't need to rent for whole weeks either outside the period of 2 July - 13 August. It gives you the opportunity to put together the holiday according to your choice, just as you can choose to travel on the cheapest ferry days. The cheapest ferry days are usually Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Bus to Balka and Feddet
If you wish to take the bus, the bus stop is approximately 400 meters away from the holiday home. The schedule for all bus routes on Bornholm can be found here: bat.dk.
Cleaning
A holiday must be a holiday! That is why we make sure to clean your holiday home on arrival/departure - so you are always sure that the holiday home is properly cleaned on your arrival, and you are free from the work of cleaning yourself before your departure. When you order through us, cleaning is always included in your rental price. You therefore do not have to pay extra for the cleaning. On your departure, we therefore simply ask you to ensure that the furniture is in its place, the kitchenware is washed up, and any waste is handed over to the area's environmental station.
Disability conditions
Feddet is unfortunately not handicap friendly due to steps in the house. Please contact us on phone +45 56 95 85 66 for advice and guidance if you need a holiday home more suitable for people with physical disabilities.
Dogs
You can bring one dog on Feddet. If you bring your 4-legged friend, please inform us about this in connection with your booking of the cottage. Due to the extra cleaning, it costs EUR 48 to take your dog with you. It is easy to take your dog to Bornholm - even if you travel via Sweden. Just remember to meet the requirements of the Swedish customs authorities. Usually, the rules for importing animals into Sweden are restrictive. Duvets/Bed linen
There are duvets and pillows in the holiday home. Bed linen and towels are therefore the only thing you must bring yourself. Alternatively, you can rent a linen package, consisting of sheets, pillow and duvet covers as well as a large and a small towel, for 22 EUR per person. Please remember to pre-order if you want to rent bed linen/towels.
Freezing options
There is a large freezer of 300 liters in the holiday home.
Grill
There is a grill at your disposal at Feddet, which you are free to use. Be aware that you must clean the grill yourself after your use.
Internet
There is free wireless internet in Feddet. Transmission strength may vary. If you need to use the internet connection for work-related matters, we therefore recommend that you bring your own mobile broadband. If the network does not function optimally, this does not provide a basis for financial compensation. You will find the code for the internet in your holiday home.
Keys
Together with your booking confirmation, you will also receive information on how to get the key to your holiday home. It works easily - and it's no problem if you arrive late at night.
Kitchen equipment
Feddet has a well-equipped kitchen - including kitchen service. You therefore do not need to bring kitchen utensils or the like.

Purchase
“Dagli ’Brugsen” in Snogebæk is the nearest grocery store (approximately 2 kilometers from Feddet). In Nexø, which is about 3 kilometers from the cottage, you will find a large selection of shops - including “Kvickly”, “Coop 365”, “Netto” and” Lidl”.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted indoors at Feddet.
Towels, toilet paper and more
Upon arrival, there is a tea towel, dishcloth and a boot stock of toilet paper and paper towels in your cottage. If you need more, you must make sure to bring / purchase this yourself.

Yes, there is a washing machine at Feddet that you can use for free.

Feddet is located just 500 meters from Balka Beach, which is one of Bornholm’s very best beaches. Look forward to a beautiful and very child-friendly beach with shallow water depth.
A good tip is to take the short walk along the beach or the forest to the small fishing village Snogebæk, which offers a wonderful harbor atmosphere with cafes, restaurants, smokehouse and shops. Try tasting one of the famous pizzas at “Sørens Værtshus”, where there is lots of fun and live music. The audience is a wonderful mix of children, young people and adults, so the family can have fun together.
If you have children with you, they will be a bit impressed with the fact that they can swing in an old lifeboat, which hangs down from the café’s ceiling. After dinner, you can taste a delicious homemade ice- cream at Nettis.
Experience Snogebæk Harbor
Take a walk along the harbor and have a chat with the local fishermen. Not all their stories are equally true, but they are funny. If you have the fishing rods with you, it is possible to catch fish for dinner from the harbor pier - alternatively you can also "cheat" a little and buy some delicious fish for the grill in the fish shop.
We recommend that you visit the local glassblower Pernille Bülow's design store, where there are lots of temptations in clothing and applied art. Also visit the big flea market on Saturdays, where there are fun things and great chances to make a good bargain.
Good opportunity or cycling excursions
Bornholm's extensive network of bicycle tracks is almost right by Feddet - and you live just 500 meters from a bicycle rental, so rent a bicycle and experience the beautiful landscape. Try cycling to Dueodde, where you can see most of South Bornholm from Dueodde Lighthouse. Or drive the approximately 3 kilometers to Nexø along the cozy bike track, which is laid out on the old railway-track. It is a wonderful walk through the forest and close to the sea.
Nexø offers a cozy harbor and urban environment with lots of shopping opportunities. Also remember to visit Nexø Museum, where you can, among other things, get the dramatic story of the days in May 1945. While the rest of Denmark celebrated the liberation, Russian planes bombed Nexø, after which Russian troops invaded the city. Bornholm was occupied by Russia until 1946.

Get to the top in BornholmerTårnet
If you are historically interested, you should also visit BornholmerTårnet on Dueodde. The tower was formerly NATO's advanced radar and listening post against the Eastern Bloc countries, but today the tower is a beautiful lookout tower and transformed into a Cold War museum, where you experience Bornholm's exciting role during the Cold War. For example, you can see one of the MIG fighter jets that was used in connection with the flight of Polish pilots to Denmark. At Dueodde you can also find two large German bunkers from World War II.
A little more peaceful is the Butterfly Park in Nexø, where you can experience a wealth of beautiful butterflies - and if you have children with you, they will love the large amusement park Brændesgårdshaven. Once the entrance fee is paid, all rides are free - including the entrance to the water park and the mini-zoo, which the children will love too.

Nexø offers several good cafes and restaurants. Relax with a good cup of coffee at Cafe Guldbønnen, or have lunch at the cozy H8 restaurant, which is decorated in the premises that in the old days were used as a harbor weight at Nexø harbor. At H8 you will be pampered with wonderful tapas dishes and good sandwiches. Right by restaurant H8 is an exhibition that welcomes you inside with beautiful glass art and ceramics.
Exciting experiences at Nexø Museum
At Nexø Museum you get exciting experiences about Nexø's history with a special focus on fishing and not least World War II, where Nexø became a piece in the big political game. While the rest of Denmark celebrated the liberation in May 1945, Nexø was carpet bombed by Russian bombers. The German commander on Bornholm refused to surrender to the Russians, as he only wanted to surrender to the English - but the English, who were already in Denmark, did not dare come to Bornholm for fear of provoking the Russians. The result was that the Russians bombed and later invaded Nexø. The Russian occupation continued until 1946. Come and experience the violent history at Nexø Museum.
Market days and cozy market atmosphere
By the harbor is Skippertorvet, where there is a flea market during the summer. It is a popular event for both locals and tourists. Visit the cozy stalls, where you will be tempted by good offers while listening to cozy live accordion music.

Martin Andersen Nexø
Martin Andersen Nexø was a well-known Danish author who grew up in Nexø. His work included among other things the novel “Pelle the Conqueror”. Today, his birthplace has been transformed into a museum, which offers exciting photographs, paintings and stories about the author's life and works. Take a walk in the author's footsteps on the 6.6-kilometer-long poet route, which starts and ends at the Martin Andersen Nexø Museum. The Poetry Route takes you past 8 stops, each of which offers live audio stories about the author's life and literature. After lots of experiences, maybe you need a little lunch? There are many good cafes and restaurants in Nexø ... but a good tip is Nexø Smokehouse, which offers a wide selection of smoked products (also other than fish). At Nexø Smokehouse you get high-level delicacies at reasonable prices.
The hills of paradise - Paradisbakkerne
In the novel “Pelle the Conqueror”, Pelle guards’ cows in the Hills of Paradise. At the time, Pelle probably did not have time to enjoy the beautiful area - but we hope you have time for that. the Hills of Paradise offers an adventurous nature with rocky landscapes, small fissure valleys and hiking blocks from the ice age. Make sure to tie the laces well before you leave home, sheep as the name suggests, the Hills of Paradise is a very hilly area. In the Hills of Paradise you can see one of Bornholm's seven castles, Gammelborg, and one of Bornholm's largest rock stones. Try to see if you can make it shake with just a light gesture.
